This page will be updated when information about the new Health Centre is available.
This information is intended to inform you how to make the most of the many services provided at the surgery.
The practice is led by a group of four doctors, four primary care nurses, one practice manager, and a team of administrative assistants, secretaries, and receptionists.
The Practice also has two visiting doctors who see patients by appointment.

Please remember that not all services offered by the doctors are available on the NHS. Reception staff will advise you on fees for non NHS services such as HGV, elderly drivers, fitness to travel and private hire.
Timetable
Surgery opening times -
Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 7.00 pm
Thursday 8.00 am to 6.00 pm
Saturday 8.00 am to 12.00 noon
There are daily surgeries at the following times:
Mon to Fri - 8.30 am to11.30 am I 11.00 am to 1.00 pm I 3.00pm to 6.30pm
Thursday - 8.30 am to 11.30 am I 10.00 am to 12.00 noon
The Surgery is now closed on Saturdays
There is also a branch surgery at South Hiendley, Surgeries are
Monday to Friday - 8.30 am to 10.30 am
Monday, Tuesday, Friday evenings, 4.30 pm to 5.45 pm
Telephone advice is usually available each day except Thursday between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm. The duty doctor will take these calls.
Appointments
All patients are seen by appointment, except in genuine medical emergencies. To make an appointment: Call in at the surgery or telephone the surgery and wait for a receptionist to answer - between 8.00 am and 5.45 pm Monday to Friday. Please do not telephone for an appointment outside these times.
NB - each appointment is for one person only. If you are unable to keep an appointment please inform the surgery as soon as possible.
Young patients under 14 years of age should normally be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The surgery is closed on Bank Holidays.
Home Visits and Emergency Calls
Home visits should be requested between 8.00 am and10.00 am.
Visit requests should be made only for patients who are too ill to be brought to surgery.
When the surgery is closed you will be asked to telephone the Wakefield and Pontefract GP's On-Call. A doctor will consider your case and may offer to see you at the Out-of-hours centre in Wakefield or Pontefract. Alternatively you may be offered advice to help you cope until the surgery re-opens. The doctor may decide you need a visit.
Please help the surgery to help you by:
a) Not calling after 6.00 pm unless the reason can be medically justified and
b) Attending at the surgery during the day or the Out-of-Hours centre at night.
Disabled Patients
There is access to the surgery during the day for patients in wheelchairs. Toilet facilities are provided for disabled patients.
Repeat Prescriptions
Unfortunately there is no telephone repeat prescription service.
Place a tick against the items you require on the tear off slip from your last prescription. If you do not have this for some reason write the items on a piece of paper and either bring it to the surgery or post it. (Don't forget to add your name and address!) Alternatively you can fax it any time on 01226 700051. If you require a signed prescription to be posted back to you please provide a stamped addressed envelope.
Please allow 48 hours for processing.
X-Ray and Laboratory Results
Results will be available between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm. Patients who need to speak to a doctor for results or advice should ring the surgery between these times.
Change of Personal Details
Notify the receptionist as soon as possible of changes to telephone number, name, address, or marital status.
Change of Doctor
To change to another doctor's practice a patient should take their NHS Medical Card to the doctor of their choice for acceptance onto the list of that practice.
Complaints
The Practice is constantly trying to improve and develop all aspects of its work. Should you wish to make a complaint about the service offered at the Medical Centre please ask to speak to the practice manager. If, after discussion, you are still not satisfied you may appeal in writing to Wakefield Health Authority at White Rose House, West Parade, Wakefield, WF1 1LT, no later than 13 weeks after the event which has given cause for complaint.
